Dear 2022 Degree candidates and members of UNIST,

Graduation gown rental service and photo taking event plan for degree candidates of February 2022 including accumulated number of graduates who did not rent graduation gown due to COVID-19 was informed from last January.

However, the infection of Omicron spreads nationwide, around 800 people in Ulsan, and 50,000 people in nationwide are expected to be infected at this moment. In order to minimize the influx of outsiders and private gatherings, and to protect the safety on campus by minimizing infection of members on campus, UNIST Infectious Disease Control Committee decided to temporarily postpone the graduation gown rental service planned for late February. We ask for your generous understanding for graduates who have been waiting for the gown rental service.

Since thee safety issues of degree candidates and members of UNIST is primarily concerned, the decision of canceling the gown rental service was made after a lot of discussions, judging that it was unable to hold a graduation gown rental service where campus safety was not guaranteed to hold the event at this moment due to the continued spread of COVID-19.

If the spread and rates of infection decreases and becomes a little safer than it is now, we will set up a photo zone and hold a graduation gown rental service for graduates. Once again, we ask for your generous understanding.
